Michael has been an active member of the Lubbock community since his time as a student at Texas Tech.
Before graduating in 2003 with a degree in Management Information Systems, Michael worked his way through school as a Senior Network Engineer at a Lubbock and Dallas based internet service provider. In 2002, along with co-founder Jeromy Mallory, he created the company that would become Blue Layer.
When he’s not working to provide customers with the best technology solutions, Michael is active in the Texas Tech Athletics Department where he has been the team sports photographer for over 15 years. During his free time, Michael enjoys spending time with his wife Jessica and their three children. Together they support several charities including March of Dimes, the NICU unit at Covenant Hospital and the American Cancer Society.
Jeromy is proud of his Lubbock roots. Born and raised in the Hub City, he continues to appreciate the sense of community and friendship that is unique to West Texas.
Although his love for animals led him to start his undergraduate career at Texas Tech by studying Veterinary Medicine, it didn’t take long for Jeromy to realize that his true passion was for helping people work more efficiently through technology. He changed his major and focused on gaining expertise in the technology field. By the time he graduated from Texas Tech in 2000, he had already secured a position as Head Systems and Network Administrator for NTS Communications.
When he’s not working, Jeromy stays active by practicing Jiu Jitsu and archery. He also spends time with his wife Candice and their two boys. As a family, they are active in their church community and Sunday school program.
Chris has called Lubbock “home” for 31 years. After graduating from Texas State University with a degree in biology, Chris returned to Lubbock in 1997, aligned with a local insurance agency, and specialized in client development and technology advancement.
As Vice President, Chris enjoyed 18 years focusing on company expansion within and beyond Lubbock boundaries. This included development of a new corporate wellness division to improve employee health and reduce the healthcare cost trend for employers throughout the Lubbock region. HIPAA compliance, as well as federal healthcare reform, were also top priorities in his client relationships. Transitioning to Blue Layer in 2018 as Chief Strategy Officer, Chris continues his passion of building relationships and helping local businesses achieve their goals.
Outside of business, Chris enjoys photography, tennis with his son, Caleb; and volunteer work at the South Plains Food Bank.
